CHLOE FRANCIS advises a range of financial institutions on UK and EU financial services regulatory matters, including AIFMD, MiFID II, UCITS Directive, sustainable finance/ESG, and fintech.
Chloe trained and qualified as a solicitor at Sidley’s office in London, where she gained experience in the firm’s Capital Markets, Tax, M&A, and Private Equity practices.
Prior to joining Sidley, Chloe held a series of management positions at global investment banks in New York and London. She advised hedge funds and asset managers on portfolio finance and the financial impact of the changing regulatory landscape, so she brings a deep commercial perspective to her current work.

- General EU/UK financial services regulation, including AIFMD, and AIFMD II, MiFID II, UCITS Directive, the Investment Firms Prudential Regime, Short Selling Regulation and Market Abuse Regulation.
- The new EU and UK regulatory frameworks for sustainable finance/ESG, including: the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D), the UK Corporate Climate Disclosure Regulations, the UK Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) and the Financial Conduct Authority TCFD-aligned climate disclosure regime.
- Emerging international standards for ESG reporting, including the Transition Plan Taskforce Disclosure Framework and International Sustainability Standards Board Standards.
- The UK financial services regime and regulatory perimeter under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and FCA rules.
