LAURENZ BOVÉ represents clients before the European Commission, national competition authorities, and European courts, including the European Court of Justice. He has secured favourable results for clients in some of the largest, most high-profile and complex mergers and cartel cases globally. Laurenz also helps clients navigate through the antitrust aspects of litigation and public investigations, and he has experience acting for clients both on the complainant as well as the defendant side in proceedings and investigations relating to abuse of market dominance.
Laurenz has extensive experience in the tech sector specifically. He regularly advises clients on antitrust issues relating to digital platforms, e-commerce, fintech, and digital advertising. Laurenz also has extensive experience representing clients in other sectors, including FMGC and industrial conglomerates.
Laurenz studied at the University of Oxford and is admitted to practice in London and Brussels. He works in English, Dutch, and French.
Prior to joining Sidley, Laurenz worked at the London and Brussels offices of two other leading international law firms and worked as an in-house counsel while seconded to Amazon.com, Inc.
In addition to his work for clients, Laurenz is frequently invited to partake in industry conferences and seminars on the international antitrust aspects of various topics and developments, including the business model of digital platforms, as well as emerging technologies such as AI.
