JAMES AKINLEYE is an associate in the Global Finance group in the firm’s Chicago office.
Prior to joining Sidley, James was a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Graduate Fellow at BPI (Business and Professional People for the Public Interest).
James earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he served as president of the Student Bar Association, vice-president of Community Service & Civic Engagement of the Graduate & Professional Council, and the associate managing editor of the Washington University Law Review. He also worked on various criminal appeals through the Appellate Clinic. Upon graduating James received the Jack Garden Humanitarian Award for his significant contributions to the School of Law.
James received his B.B.A. from the University of Iowa where he majored in Management. He was a recipient of the Center for Diversity & Enrichment Student Leadership Award.
