The Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center has honored Sidley with the 2025 Humanitarian Award at its annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner, recognizing the firm’s commitment to pro bono legal service and social responsibility. The annual dinner pays tribute to Holocaust survivors, as well as civic, community, and business leaders, and is one of Chicago’s largest fundraising events. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the Holocaust, this year’s dinner also celebrated veterans. Retired U.S. Army General David Petraeus was the event’s keynote speaker.
Brian Fahrney, chair-elect of Sidley’s Executive Committee, accepted the award on the firm’s behalf and addressed an audience of more than 1,300, noting that “Sidley is proud to support its mission of honoring the memory of Holocaust victims and survivors and providing education and hope to future generations.” Brian further highlighted the Museum and Sidley’s shared commitment to the Chicago community, where Sidley is “humbled to be uniquely positioned to make a positive impact … for generations to come.”
Allison Satyr, a partner in Sidley’s Global Finance group and a Museum board member remarked, “The fact that the Museum has recognized Sidley with its Humanitarian Award fills me with joy and gratitude. I feel so lucky to be aligned with these two world-class organizations that are both committed to the pursuit of justice and making an impact on the world.”
