Sidley, along with JPMorganChase and the Honorable Loretta E. Lynch, will be honored by the City Bar Justice Center (CBJC) at its 20th Anniversary Gala, recognizing the firm’s commitment to pro bono legal services and community impact philanthropy.
Sidley has a longstanding relationship with and commitment to CBJC, partnering, for example, to conduct clinics with its Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project (NELP), which assists small business entrepreneurs, many of whom are women of color, on various aspects of launching and running a business. Sidley also works extensively with CBJC’s Veterans Assistance Project (VAP) to address the needs of New York City veterans who face various forms of systemic injustice. Sidley’s collaboration with CBJC has extended to roughly half of its dozen civil legal aid practices as well as special initiatives, such as advising small business owners affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The CBJC is the pro bono affiliate of the New York City Bar Association and furthers access to justice by addressing unmet civil legal needs of New Yorkers struggling with poverty and other systemic socioeconomic barriers. The CBJC will honor Sidley at its annual gala on April 9, 2025, which will celebrate the impact of pro bono lawyers in advancing access to justice.
