Sidley has been named among the “Top Foreign Law Firms” by India Business Law Journal (“IBLJ”) for the sixth consecutive year. The annual report draws on analysis of more than 600 law firms globally and consultation with India-focused corporate counsel and partners at Indian law firms to identify the leading foreign law firms for India-related work.
As a “Top 15” foreign firm, Sidley has been highlighted for its “capital markets clout and partner attention,” with one client emphasizing the “personal attention from the senior partner into the nuances and details of each IPO,” and acknowledging that the team “exhibit[s] consistency in their position regarding regulations and how they are applied.”
Sidley partner Manoj Bhargava, whose capital markets practice focuses on India and Southeast Asia, has been commended for his “ability to handle difficult clients and deals and provide solutions to complex situations.”
IBLJ has highlighted Sidley’s work across 12 India equity offerings in 2022 for companies such as Macrotech Developers, Adani Wilmar, and Vedant Fashions; and on the US$1.5 billion sale of Sembcorp Energy India to a consortium led by Oman Investment Corporation and the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, Oman.
