Sidley partners Stephanie Chan and Jennifer Lim have been honored at the Women in Business Law Awards APAC 2023. Stephanie was named the winner in the “Securities Litigator of the Year” category, while Jennifer received the “Arbitration Rising Star” award. The annual awards recognize “the leading women lawyers throughout the region and celebrate the law firms that have impressive initiatives to promote diversity and women in the legal industry.”
Stephanie is a member of Sidley’s multidisciplinary China Corporate and Finance group. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, contentious regulatory matters, and international arbitration. Stephanie has extensive experience in advising multinational and Chinese companies in a broad range of commercial disputes across multiple jurisdictions, with particular focus on cross-border contractual disputes, joint venture and shareholder disputes, fraud, enforcement of securities, and debt recovery. She is particularly strong in advising on regulatory investigations conducted by regulatory and enforcement authorities, including the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and Commercial Crime Bureau.
Jennifer focuses her practice on international dispute resolution and arbitration. She represents clients in investor-state and commercial arbitrations, including proceedings conducted under the ICSID, ICSID (Additional Facility), and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, as well as ICC, HKIAC, SIAC, and LCIA arbitrations seated in Hong Kong, Singapore, and New York. Jennifer also sits as an arbitrator under ICC and SIAC rules. In addition, she has broad experience advising on general transnational litigation matters, including arbitration-related court proceedings and complex cross-border disputes.
