Sidley partner Rachpal K. Thind has been shortlisted for the “Professions” category at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2023. The annual awards celebrate “the phenomenal Asian women across the UK and across industries, who are making a valuable and important contribution to British life,” with this award recognizing “women who have trained and qualified in their chosen professional practise and have become a leading practitioner.”
Rachpal’s clients turn to her for advice on complex UK and EU regulatory and compliance matters, in particular those relating to cross-border issues. She has for many years counseled arrangers, issuers, originators, investment managers and investors on the regulatory aspects of structured finance and capital market transactions. Rachpal also has extensive experience of advising overseas banks, investment management firms and payment services firms on EU/UK anti-money laundering and financial sanctions compliance matters. She is the London chair and EU regional chair of Sidley’s Committee on the Evaluation and Compensation of Associates and works closely with SidleyWomen on mentoring, retaining, promoting, and developing women lawyers.
