Sidley Global Private Equity co-leader Mehdi Khodadad has been recognized as a “Dealmaker of the Year” by The American Lawyer. Mehdi was recognized for representing Clearlake Capital Group, L.P. in its landmark acquisition of the UK Premier League’s Chelsea Football Club and related affiliates.
The deal, which was announced May 9, 2022, has been heralded as one of the most significant sports deals in history.

This is the second time Mehdi has received the award from The American Lawyer. He was also named a “Dealmaker of the Year” in 2015.
