Sidley partner Dan Clivner has been named to Los Angeles Business Journal’s inaugural “Top 100 Lawyers” list. The publication further honored him, presenting Dan with the “Champion of Diversity” award. The special supplement honors the accomplishments of the region’s most impactful lawyers.
Dan was selected for the recognition based on his impressive leadership balanced with his prolific and influential M&A practice. Dan co-leads the firm’s global M&A and Private Equity group, serves as managing partner of the greater Los Angeles offices, and is a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee. Dan has counseled clients in some of the firm’s most high-profile transactional matters, leveraging his extensive experience advising executives, boards, management, special committees, and investment banking firms on domestic and international deals. Further, Dan works extensively within the Los Angeles community. He is a former Chairman of the Board and leader of the capital campaign for Public Counsel, the largest pro bono public interest law firm in the nation. He also served for six years as director of APLA Healthcare, formerly known as AIDS Project Los Angeles. He has been an LGBTQ+ diversity pioneer throughout his career. Most recently, he initiated a 1L internship at Sidley for law students from diverse backgrounds to help build the pipeline from diverse and first-generation law students into leading law firms.
